Gears of War 3- Review and Opinions

Gears of War, an exclusive Xbox 360 title, a cover-based shooter which is the main feature that sets it aside from all the other action/shooter games of today, it has had a major following of what I believe would be the people that dislike both the Halo series and the Call of Duty series from day one.  Now as a self-proclaimed gamer I have the right mind to consider both Halo and CoD completely different games apart from the FPS perspective, and I can now say that GoW is in fact a true contender of my attention when I choose to play video games now, after having a first ever experience of a 6 hour game session consisting of both campaign and multiplayer elements.

Campaign / Storyline- I can't say much for the storyline because I have not been attached to the game from its origins and know what it is really about, but what I do know is that there is the COG or your main character's "Marcus Fenix" military squad and they are in conflict with the Locust and I believe another faction called the Lichen.  Now the campaign as a feature of the game is amazing, keeps me wanting to see whats in the next chapter, takes you easy from one part to another without much fuss in the middle bits.  Environments look beautifully dismayed due to the time period and the events that are going on, and this carries on to the multiplayer maps.

Multiplayer- I can never get enough of some competitive online play, its an addiction really, but WOW, swift matchmaking, no lobbies, at least for the casual mode, and it jumps you into another map right away instead of going back a lobby waiting and then starting up again, it felt non stop which is good for the fun, and bad if you have to try and do something (like homework).  At some point I was in a game with only 2 other people but both teams were full when I realized they used bots to keep the matches in full stride instead having one team short of people which I enjoyed.

Gameplay- (Again first time playing) The controls for me felt confusing due to my Halo and CoD background and I forced myself to try and figure out what buttons do certain things for certain weapons without resorting to the manual (still haven't figured out mortar aiming yet, I don't know if there is), as I slowly progress through casual campaign mode I definitely got a good feel for it, but I know there will be some time before I can truly get the hang of it.

Final verdict- Definitely a strong recommendation to buy it will also be a good addition to your gaming library, but hands down try this game for the hell of it, its a definite change from the other big action/shooter titles.

I go by the name Kevin Amado, but what I like to think I'm known as is my alter-ego / alias AMadToon (also my XBox Live Gamertag),  since I don't like being directly placed in view I use this for a multitude of reasons which I keep to myself.
I am a recent graduate of Manchester Community College, with an Associates in Foodservice Management, though I continue to attend classes because I feel the need to constantly learn new and interesting things (plus its wicked cheap so its easy to learn a lot for a little).
People who have the privilege to get to know me, know and will tell you that I am one of the nicest people they've ever met due to my great amount of endless generosity, patience, and need to try help others that I find need helping within my circle of acquaintances, in essence I enjoy seeing others be thrive from my efforts of helping them.
At any given part of my free time and sometimes when I procrastinate, I am usually playing video games of all kinds, I thoroughly enjoy the stories they tell and how it is shown through stunning visuals and gameplay, I also find it very relaxing for some reason to get lost in a different world and create experiences of  fictional characters.
